Every so often I need a page-turner, a nice easy beach read - even if, or maybe because, I've not been allowed anywhere a beach for months and months due to Covid。 The Catch fits the bill perfectly - a tautly written thriller which keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat until near the end。 Nothing too heavy, nothing too complicated to think about, just a simple enjoyable read。 Every so often I need a page-turner, a nice easy beach read - even if, or maybe because, I've not been allowed anywhere a beach for months and months due to Covid。 The Catch fits the bill perfectly - a tautly written thriller which keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat until near the end。 Nothing too heavy, nothing too complicated to think about, just a simple enjoyable read。 。。。more

Another fantastic read from T。M。Logan。 I could not put the book down。 Abbie's introduces her boyfriend, Ryan to her parents for the first time。 Ryan is handsome, intelligent and was in the army。 He even plays guitar on his free time at his local hospice。 He's simply perfect。 So why Ed, Annie's father, got a bad vibe from Ryan。 There's something about Ryan just doesn't sit right with him。 Is Ed being an over protective dad or is he right? TenseTense at times and left me guessing throughout not knowing which way it was going to go but the last few chapters became very predictable。 A different kind of story with some twists along the way。

I liked this more than The Holiday really kept me guessing I couldn’t work out where the story was going to go!

I knew I would hate it 😌 I just knew it 😌 this kind of thriller is the whole reason I stopped reading the genre。 Ridiculously predictable, completely generic and NOTHING HAPPENED FOR THE FIRST 90% of the book。

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I read it quickly as the plot kept me very interested! I would recommend The Catch

I was bummed how predictable this story was。

Really I want to give this 2。5 stars - I just felt like I wasn’t really invested into the characters enough。 I didn’t care enough about them。 If fast paced thrillers are your thing then is definitely worth a read。 Average read for me!

It started off so good and a real page turner but got so long winded from about halfway with very little happening。 I had to finish to find out what happened but i found myself getting annoyed at the padding out of the story。 It shoukd have been a good 200 pages shorter!

It's actually 3。5。 This is my second book by T。M Logan and I had really enjoyed The Holiday。 I did enjoy the first part of the book as the constant struggle between who to believe, was quite high。 The author has created the character of a paranoid ( or is he) father, Ed, who's constant failure in understanding whether his opinion of his perfect son in law Ryan, is actually valid or not。 Not finding much support from his wife Claire ot daughter Abbie, he goes all out to protect his daughter from It's actually 3。5。 This is my second book by T。M Logan and I had really enjoyed The Holiday。 I did enjoy the first part of the book as the constant struggle between who to believe, was quite high。 The author has created the character of a paranoid ( or is he) father, Ed, who's constant failure in understanding whether his opinion of his perfect son in law Ryan, is actually valid or not。 Not finding much support from his wife Claire ot daughter Abbie, he goes all out to protect his daughter from what he fears to be something really dangerous。 What follows is a good paced mystery associated with the son in law, however towards the end, the conclusion seemed quite banal in comparison to the beginning。 I feel Ed deserved a better end and if only there was a little more surprise element, it would have been a 4 from me。 。。。more

Another absolutely brilliant and unputdownable book by one of my favourite thriller writers。

Sue

I found the first few chapters of this book a bit contrived, with Ed going into full on sleuth from the off。 Once I got over that the rest of the book was enjoyable enough。 An easy read。

I'm a big fan of T。M。 Logan's thrillers and this one hooked me straight in。 The book is written from the perspective of an extremely overprotective father but with good reason。 When Ed meets his daughters new boyfriend for the first time he senses that something is very wrong, he doesn't believe for one second Ryan is who he says he is。 The book is very fast paced as Ed races to uncover Ryan's dark past before it's too late and it keeps you turning the page late in to the night! I can't remember the last time I was so bored by a book。 Slow paced, unimaginative, very predictable。 Picked up around 75% in, where it started getting interesting。 Still very predictable。 Won't be reading any other T。M。Logan novels。 I can't remember the last time I was so bored by a book。 Slow paced, unimaginative, very predictable。 Picked up around 75% in, where it started getting interesting。 Still very predictable。 Won't be reading any other T。M。Logan novels。 。。。more

This is the second book I've read by this author and the second I haven't enjoyed。 Whilst there is no doubt that this author writes better than I could ever hope to do, I've come to the conclusion that we simply don't get on。 The book promises a lot but delivers very little。 It does pick up towards the end but only for a few chapters and the whole of the first three quarters of the book tries to build suspense but just leads to boredom。 I wouldn't recommend and shan't be reading any more by T M This is the second book I've read by this author and the second I haven't enjoyed。 Whilst there is no doubt that this author writes better than I could ever hope to do, I've come to the conclusion that we simply don't get on。 The book promises a lot but delivers very little。 It does pick up towards the end but only for a few chapters and the whole of the first three quarters of the book tries to build suspense but just leads to boredom。 I wouldn't recommend and shan't be reading any more by T M Logan 。。。more

A fantastic book that will make you think, do you really know people like you think you do ? As soon as I started reading this book, I knew I was going to be gripped。 Initially told from Ed’s perspective as he is introduced to his daughter Abbie’s new boyfriend, Ryan, whom he takes an instant disliking to。 Is he just being an overprotective father or is there more than meets the eye with Ryan ?The chapters are short but pacy in this book。 The end of every chapter sucked me in so I couldn’t just A fantastic book that will make you think, do you really know people like you think you do ?
